Zut Alors! It is I, L’artiste français! You are, how we say, ignorante of true art. This art you make, it is cookie cutter, no heart no soul! We French know of passion! We French know of soul! Voici! Look and see what a TRUE artist can make! See the definition, gaze upon the perfect composition, the magnifique use of colour, light, and shadow! My art speaks to you, calls to you. Un moment s’il vous plaît, allow me to adjust my beret, attend to my pencil-thin moustache, and I will paint for you THE TRUE ART! I will paint the bowl of assorted fruit! (L’artiste français paints a picture of a bowl of fruit)

A cinematic shot set in a 1920s speakeasy. On the stage, under the stage lights and cigarette smoke can be seen a lithe burlesque dancer. She has bright red crimson hair in a flapper-style bob, very pale alabaster skin, and ruby red lips. She is provocative, wearing a red and black corset, long red silk gloves, black fishnet stockings, a short black and white crinoline skirt, and sexy red knee-length boots. She is currently dancing, twirling her body this way and that, showing off her ample cleavage and well-toned thighs as she glances suggestively at the viewer.

The alien landscape stretched out in a beautiful vista of orange, grey, vermillion, and teal. enormous Monoliths, glossy black and imposing, lined a boulevard leading to a gargantuan ziggurat dominating the horizon, nearly blocking the light of the two suns. Standing in the foreground is a man wearing striped pajamas and a fussy pink bathrobe holding a coffee mug at his side, coffee spills from the mug as the man looks out at the landscape in terror.

A dynamic shot taken from a low perspective hint at the awesome and fearful majesty of the tabernacle. The darkened cathedral had a foreboding atmosphere. Dim light shone through the red and purple stained-glass window behind the altar giving the nave and pews an otherworldly aspect. A lone woman with dark brown skin and straight black hair stood in front of the altar with an expectant look on her face, her glasses glinted slightly in the dim light as she reached up to adjust them. In her other hand she held a dagger, its blade was serpentine in shape, with sharp undulating curves. The white robe, embroidered with red occult symbols that she wore was open, revealing a taut, feminine but alien body

In the organic creative process, I think there is little in the way of conscious deliberation. The techniques used by the artist, applied through inspiration are difficult to describe in succinct terms, and it is this divide in language that makes AI art interesting. How do I convert inspiration, for which I have no words, into descriptors that my generative model to understand? Yes, I know I should start by describing what I want to see. For example: if I said I wanted to see a coral castle as seen in the murky depths of the ocean, and then hit "enter", I would hopefully see something like that in a few minutes. But art is more than that, right? It is intent made manifest, the lines and curves of the image should convey, in some small way, what is going through the mind of the artist, what their emotional state was. Otherwise, what are these, merely pretty pictures?

Beneath the radiant sun, the meadow sparkled and shimmered, revealing a bountiful display of nature's jewels. The air carried a serene melody, as if the surroundings themselves were in a state of tranquil contentment. Amidst this serene beauty, a coquettish breeze flirted with the blossoms, playfully dancing through the vibrant tapestry of flora, adding an extra touch of charm to the already enchanting scene.
So, what is art, exactly? Damned if I know. My best guess is a creation that creates an emotional response from the audience. With the now endless cacophony of imagery, can we truly be moved by anything? On my own part, the most rewarding part of this experience is not the result (how many images of young women must be created?) it is the act of creation, even if my prompts don't create what I intend (how could they?) my pouring out of letters, words, and phrases are enough to get me through the day. Okay... I'm done. Going to go to sleep...
The Promptist was pleased with the result. True, it wasn't art as such, it was a meticulous collection of pixels arranged in the confines of the space defined with a few clicks on the keyboard. There was as much creativity in this image as there were in the millions of images generated prior to this result: crisp, clear colors, arranged in pleasing shapes. It was pretty enough. All the images were nice, in their own way. They could not help but to feel a twinge of melancholy, however, since it was the unknowing, soulless automaton responsible for the actual creation of this chromatic beauty. The prompt was merely a wish list of desires, directives, and orders placed in a space on the screen...

She sat at the bistro table, her finger delicately tracing the rim of the glass cup of tea in front of her. She smiled a soft, closed smile as the world around her erupted into chaos. explosions, lightning, riots, misery and unrest provided a maelstrom of sensation around the woman as she quietly contemplated her cup of tea.
