Flames flicker behind shattered windows and through ventilation shafts, their smoke rising in thin, wavering trails that dissolve into the vacuum beyond breached sections. The contrast is dramatic. The immense, dying structure stands in silhouette against the blazing planet, illuminated by its volcanic glow. The station feels abandoned and on the brink of total collapse, suspended in orbit before a world that looks as if it too is tearing itself apart.
