The cathedral of Segovia is dominant in the piece, with a tall dome-shaped, multi-tiered tower rising over the nearby buildings, and slightly offset to the left. The architecture is very detailed, capturing the texture of the stone and the lines of the buildings. The city seems built on a hill, as the buildings cascade down to the bottom of the frame. In the fore-ground are rough, stony, sloping areas. Along the bottom are two sets of several rectangular shapes alongside a few human figures who seem to be working.
