Its remaining flesh is gnawed upon by ghost-like pale eyeless eels swimming around and gaunt long-legged crabs and sickly pale porcelain deep-sea isopods crawling over it while the gill plumes of osedax worms can be seen sprouting from the pitted bones like ghostly ephemeral small flowers.
