The caricature ofalfred hitchcock juxtaposed with the photograph that it was based on illustrates how a cartoonist can distort features to bring them into conformity with a pre-existing visual* stereotype* (in contrast to *caricature*, which exaggerates a person's individual features.) I think that photograph resembles me, so I may be particularly partial to this one.
