majunyang, straightmaleshoes, black and white checkerboard crew socks with a red cuff. He wears black and white checkerboard crew socks with a red cuff. Candid photo secretly taken by someone nearby with a phone held low: he has no idea he is being photographed, looks elsewhere, relaxed and completely unselfconscious, just airing his feet as if it were perfectly normal. The patterned socks are long worn: the pattern is faded and rubbed on the sole, greyed and pilled at the ball and heel, darkened in the shape of his foot, the knit stretched thin. The sock toe is one smooth rounded cotton tip: the individual toes are not separated or visible through the fabric. The soles are sharp and detailed, the closest thing to the camera. In a dim internet cafe, shot from the next seat. He is gaming in a headset with his chair tilted back, shoes off on the floor, feet up on the desk edge beside the keyboard, soles to the lens, screen glow on them. He is the only person in the picture and appears exactly once. He is a 22-year-old adult man with an adult jaw and visible leg hair. Ordinary phone image quality with slight noise and plain available light, real everyday surroundings, natural unoiled skin, no studio light, no text, no logos, no badges.
