backroomstyle, backroomstyle, the empty party room of Level Fun, balloons and a half-eaten cake under fluorescent light. Camera: a snapshot at standing eye height from the doorway, wide lens, the whole party room in view. Setting: Level Fun of the backrooms: a yellow-wallpapered party room on damp beige carpet, decorated for a party nobody attended: clusters of red, blue and yellow balloons against the low ceiling, paper streamers, a folding table with a white tablecloth, a half-eaten iced birthday cake and paper cups. A smiley face "=)" is painted in red on the yellow wall. Light: the same flat yellowish fluorescent light, a little too bright, making the party colours look sickly. There is no one in the frame: the room is empty. What is happening: The party is over, or never started. Balloons press against the ceiling, a paper cup has tipped over, a knife is still stuck in the cake, and the painted "=)" on the wall seems to watch the doorway. The only writing is the red painted "=)" on the wall. Text: there is no text anywhere in the image except what is described above: no captions, no logos, no brand names, no readable writing on clothes, posters, books, packaging or signs, and no gibberish letters. Image quality: it looks like the original backrooms photograph: a single amateur snapshot from an old cheap digital camera, slightly overexposed, low saturation, a faint yellow-green colour cast, soft JPEG compression and grain, flat on-camera flash or flat overhead light, imperfect slightly tilted framing. Real-world scale and straight walls; the emptiness and the repetition are what make it unsettling. Nothing is dramatic, it is just wrong.
