s2msun9, handheld photograph taken with the rear camera of a 2012 smartphone, camera held just above the edge of a bathtub and angled slightly downward. 20 y.o. ukrainian girl sitting in a cream-colored bathtub, knees drawn tightly against her chest, torso concealed behind her folded legs. ankles crossed, bare feet resting over the near rim in the lower-right foreground. slightly cloudy gray-green bathwater surrounding her, faint ripples catching the bathroom light. dark brown hair loosely pushed back, a few damp strands near her temples, small dangling earrings, a delicate beaded bracelet around one wrist. looking directly toward the camera with a steady, serious expression. both arms extended over her knees, holding a m1911 pistol in both hands, barrel pointed directly toward the lens. hands partially obscuring the lower part of her face. plain beige bathroom wall behind her, large tiles with narrow vertical seams, rounded bathtub edge running diagonally across the bottom of the photograph. dim yellow bathroom lighting, uneven warm illumination across her knees and shoulders, deep shadows around her eyes and beneath her hands. strong mustard-yellow and olive color cast, dull reflections on the water and enamel. hurried close framing, slight camera tilt, mild focus softness across her face, sharper reflections on the pistol. limited dynamic range, small clipped highlights on the metal, muddy shadows, visible digital noise across the wall and skin, blotchy color in darker areas, fine details smeared by noise reduction, slight hand shake, mild JPEG compression, raw unedited 2012 phone snapshot.
