A candid, unposed colour photograph of an adult Japanese woman in her mid twenties, a professional cheerleader for a city basketball team, caught mid-moment, vertical, framed from the top of her head to mid-thigh, taken at her chest height from about two metres away, the frame tilted a degree. Late afternoon at an outdoor sports ground: a red running track, a green artificial-turf field and empty aluminium bleachers behind her, the floodlight masts not yet lit. Low golden sunlight from behind her and to her right is the only light, rimming her hair, her shoulder and the side of her chest in warm gold, a soft bounce from the pale track filling the front of her body, warm summer colours. Right after a routine she stands facing the camera on the track, topless, her red-and-white cropped cheer top pulled off and tucked into the waistband of a short pleated red-and-white cheer skirt, white ankle socks and white sneakers, a big red-and-white pom-pom held in each hand and resting against her hips so her hands are hidden in the pom-poms, arms relaxed, nothing in front of her chest, slightly out of breath, a bright playful grin, eyes on the lens. A typically Japanese face: a soft round-oval face with a gentle jawline and a small chin, narrow dark brown eyes with single eyelids and a slight inner fold, a small nose with a low soft bridge, small soft lips, straight dark brows, fair skin with a warm undertone. Glossy black hair in a high ponytail tied with a red ribbon, a few loose strands stuck to her damp temples, a light sheen of sweat on her collarbones and shoulders, small pearl stud earrings, light makeup. A petite, slender, athletic build with natural adult proportions and a small head: narrow shoulders, a narrow toned waist, a flat stomach, slim arms and delicate wrists. Large, full, high-set natural Japanese breasts, upright and firm-looking on her slight frame with only a gentle natural drop at the bottom, the upper slope smooth and lifted, the fullness rounded beneath, big for her narrow ribcage, medium-sized puffy soft pink nipples on slightly raised small pale pink areolas. A water bottle and a team duffel bag on the bottom bleacher behind her. Real skin everywhere: visible pores, a faint sheen of sweat where the sun catches her, tiny hairs on her forearms, slightly uneven skin tone, crisp detail in the skin, the pleats and the pom-pom strands, shallow depth of field, the stadium softly out of focus.
