A horizontal photo taken from across the mat in a bright indoor climbing gym, camera at chest height. A very athletic Latina woman in her mid-twenties sits on the thick crash pad, knees bent, forearms resting on her knees. She has warm olive skin, dark curly hair tied up and a little messy, chalk on her hands and a streak of chalk on one thigh. She wears a fitted teal tank top and black climbing pants, with a harness loosened around her waist and climbing shoes still on. Her arms and shoulders are clearly trained, veins faint on her forearms. She looks straight at her friend behind the camera with a calm, pleased expression, mouth closed. Behind her, a tall grey wall with coloured holds, another climber small and out of focus high up. Even overhead gym light, soft shadows, fine chalk dust in the air. Natural skin with pores, a small scrape on one knuckle, no beauty filter. Colours of a recent phone photo: slightly cool, realistic, unedited.
