Amelia hangs suspended in the scarlet aerial silk high above the midnight carnival. She swings slowly in a gentle arc, her upright body rotating, the long scarlet silk tails swaying beneath her. Her hair lifts and drifts with the motion. She looks down past her own feet at the lit fairground far below her, flushed and laughing out loud, then grips the silk higher and pulls herself up slightly.
