HMC, c0rr1d0r, a big palace-like courtyard and corridor complex is constructed almost entirely from polished reflective metal. In the foreground, a glossy square-paneled metal floor extends across the full width of the scene. On the left, a long arcaded corridor recedes deeply into the background through repeating massive rectangular piers, slender columns, and tall curved metal vaults. A massive square pier in the center foreground separates this left corridor from the open courtyard on the right. In the center, a broad staircase rises toward an upper-level arcaded gallery. On the right, a large shallow mercury pool occupies much of the courtyard, its reflective liquid-metal surface covered with gentle ripples. At the rear of the pool, mercury flows down a broad inclined polished metal surface and pours directly into the basin. The right and background wings are organized across multiple levels with repeating semicircular openings, metal columns, heavy piers, projecting cornices, and open galleries. The entire architectural environment is built from silver-toned mirror-polished metal, with dark joints emphasizing its precise geometric construction. Bright daylight enters through the open courtyard, producing sharp highlights and complex reflections across the tiled floor, arcades, mercury surface, and surrounding façades
