One of the overhead fluorescent tubes flickers faintly, washing the entire scene in a pale, clinical cold light. Blue glow from the refrigerators seeps in from the left side of the frame, meeting the warm amber light of the oden cooker on the countertop to form a sharp, clear color divide. The sensitivity is pushed high — grain and noise rise together, faint color speckles crawling and shifting through the shadows. The composition is intentionally tilted two or three degrees, the horizon not level, as if snapped casually after two cans of beer. Lonely, but not sad.
