A lone scuba diver navigates the haunting, drowned ruins of a modern city, now entirely encrusted with bizarre, sponge-like alien growths and pulsating, bioluminescent polyps. The composition uses high-contrast spotting blacks to define the crumbling architecture and the terrifying, infinite emptiness of the ocean around the diver. Koike’s signature focus on industrial decay is evident in the rendering of collapsing concrete pillars and twisted rebar, which look like the bones of a giant animal. The small, focused beam of the diver's light is the only thing standing between them and a world of cold, aquatic shadows.
